The friction Lotus snaps into the front of the vacuum cup. The relatively large radius on the profile of the Lotus spreads out the vacuums compressing force making a form fit nest for your bowl. This is the modern jam chuck.

A foam spider is easily attached to the face off the Lotus, No glue or tape is required to keep it in place. This will increase your gripping friction giving you the maximum rotational torque available from your vacuum chuck. All friction Lotus are shipped with 3 (quantity) 2mm thick foam spiders.
